Having completed a Master’s Degree in film-making, Nikhil spent 3 years in Bombay working on numerous television commercials as an assistant director. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with international stalwarts of cinema, including Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki. As a result, early in his career, Nikhil developed a passion for composition and storytelling through visuals. This translated a few years later into him moving from films to still photography.
Nikhil has shot weddings across the country and internationally, with more than 80 weddings in the last 6 years. Apart from weddings, he also specializes in shooting Architecture and Interior-design photographs for hotels, publications and private clients. Mentored by internationally renowned architectural photographer Antonio Martinelli, who’s book - The Royal Palaces of India has been well received across the world. Nikhil was able to hone his skills to produce world class work in the field.
Under his repertoire, Nikhil has had an exhibition of photographs in Calcutta where he documented over 50 heritage buildings that belong to the Calcutta Police. The Calcutta Police Commissioner had sponsored the project and felicitated Nikhil for his commendable efforts.
Currently, he is working on a book that documents the Architecture and Lifestyle of Tea Plantations in North Bengal. This was a project that took him about 6 months of travel over 2 years. During which time, he traveled and photographed about 150 gardens in remote parts of the state.
As an extension of his photography services, Nikhil has collaborated with Next2Future to offer the very latest technique in capturing visuals. These are 3D printed portraits. Mini Klone is the brand created and promoted by him.
