WHO AM I?

I’m a photographer based out of Mumbai, India. I shoot weddings, products, food and architecture.

Having completed a master’s degree in film-making, I spent 3 years in Mumbai working on numerous television commercials as an assistant director. During this time I had the opportunity to work with some international stalwarts of cinema, including Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki. As a result, early in my career, I developed a passion for composition and storytelling through visuals. This translated a few years later into me moving from films to still photography.

I have shot weddings across the country and internationally, with more than 150 weddings in the last 10 years. Apart from weddings, I also specialise in shooting architecture and interior-design photographs for hotels, publications and for private clients. Mentored by internationally renowned architectural photographer Antonio Martinelli, I was able to hone my skills to produce world class work in the field. Under his repertoire, I have had an exhibition of photographs in Kolkata where I documented over 50 heritage buildings that belong to the Kolkata Police. The Kolkata Police Commissioner sponsored the project and felicitated me for my commendable effort.

I have recently, in association with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage), published a book that documents the built heritage and lifestyle of tea plantations in North Bengal. The book is titled “Burra Bungalows of North Bengal”. This project took me almost a year to complete, with multiple visits to various regions of North Bengal. I was able to cover about 120 gardens across remote parts of the state that still have heritage homes called Burra Bungalows.

As an extension of my photography services, I created and trademarked a brand called Mini Klone- customised 3D printed photographic portraits which is the latest in 3D printing technology, allowing you to capture your own image; your very own personal memory in 3D, for you to hold on to.

I love making human connections, capturing important moments in people’s lives, listening to their stories, witnessing love stories unfold, and freezing fleeting moments of life. It is an honour for me when you make me a part of your story.

So what’s the favorite part of my job? It’s you.
