01Film
Film school & film sets
A master’s in film-making, then three years as an assistant director on TV commercials in Mumbai.
I had the opportunity to work with some international stalwarts of cinema, including Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki. Early in my career this gave me a passion for composition and storytelling through visuals – which, a few years later, moved me from films to still photography.

More than 150 weddings across India and internationally in the last 10 years.
I love listening to people’s stories, witnessing love stories unfold and freezing fleeting moments of life. It is an honour for me when you make me a part of your story.

03Architecture
Spaces & heritage
Architecture and interiors for hotels, publications and private clients – mentored by Antonio Martinelli.
Mentored by internationally renowned architectural photographer Antonio Martinelli, I honed my skills to produce world-class work in the field. Under his repertoire I held an exhibition in Kolkata documenting over 50 heritage buildings that belong to the Kolkata Police – a project sponsored by the Kolkata Police Commissioner, who felicitated me for the effort.

04Books
Burra Bungalows of North Bengal
A book with INTACH documenting the built heritage and lifestyle of North Bengal’s tea plantations.
The project took almost a year, with multiple visits to various regions of North Bengal, covering about 120 gardens across remote parts of the state that still have heritage homes called Burra Bungalows.

Nikhil’s work has been featured in Robb Report, Smart Photography Magazine, Mid Day and the Times of India. He has published books on built heritage, including one made with INTACH, and exhibited his documentation of over 50 Kolkata Police heritage buildings in Kolkata.
